"Wake up, Lionheart. We've arrived at the place you'll carry out your sentence."

Harry did not open his eyes. He kept them shut, resolutely refusing to acknowledge the oncoming hell that awaited him. Whatever it was, he would not see it, would not look it in the eye. He was better. He was superior.Read more... )

When Harry next awoke, he felt grass under his cheek. Unlike the last couple times, he awoke very suddenly, and fully aware of his situation. At first, he thought he must be back in the burning forest that he had encountered Dumbledore in, but that was quickly proven wrong. The air around him was cool, and the scents rather normal for a forest, even a bit pleasant. He bolted upright, and looked around. He was in a forest alright, although he couldn't see much more than that. Everything past a good distance out, maybe fifty feet, was shrouded in fog. Harry had the very odd thought that, with the shape of it all together, it resembled a woman hanging upside down. There was a halo of metal tubing halfway up its body to the ceiling, from which were hanging screens--flat screens, without tower or monitor to support them. Images were flashing across them rapidly, so much that he could not make out their details.Read more... )

Harry awoke, and the sensations were much, much different than the last time he had done so. Whereas before, the sounds had been the crackling of flames, and the scents that of gore and rot, now there was no sound at all, but the scents were the exact opposite. It was the smell of cleaning chemicals, strong and bitter. Unlike that of war and blood, this smell burned Harry's nose, irritated it so badly he wanted to hold his breath. He quickly realized that he needed to leave this place--it was poison. Read more... )

The end has come. Time for the monster to be punished.

Harry did not immediately open his eyes when he awoke. He knew that he was awake, and he knew that he was not some place he needed to be. That much was evident in the hard ground beneath his body. But the sounds and scents, especially the scents, drove him to listen carefully, perhaps wondering if playing dead would be a better idea. He could hear crackling flames, and the odor of burning wood and corpses met his nostrils. After a moment of stillness, he opened his eyes and sat up.Read more... )
