Times have changed so quickly it's dizzying, and context and preservation of fandom history are important. People who get all of their info from varying hour-long breakdowns on YouTube aren't going to get the full picture. Every once in a while someone will model their analysis style on some such example and come out worse for it.
I modeled my RWBY spork as closely after Das_Mervin's Twilight spork as I could, since I learned so much about critical analysis from reading it. In particular, the context of dates and times when things were put out into the world and the story behind them was especially useful. I think it worked out well, and I'm glad the end product was something you vibed with.
