Edited, thanks. Although it probably won't be greenlit this time next year, either.
I remember, around the time this episode aired, a rather hilarious article came out on Comic Book Resources about how Bumblebee was 'WLW romance done right' and other shows should learn from it.
I remember that. CBR is only one of many content farms, just one that happens to be up Rooster Teeth's ass, endlessly putting out positively-spun articles to generate profit from tuned-in fans. Their flow of articles never stops, even when actual content to make them out of stops coming.
the article praised RWBY for sidestepping the 'canonise a queer ship and then cancel the show' trend seen on things like Willow or (at that time) Warrior Nun, even though the next Volume hadn't been greenlit at that point and still hasn't.
Lmaoooooooo. Maybe don't count chickens before they hatch...
As for the idea that Jaune is muscular, remember that this is the same fandom who submitted Yang to a buff women contest and got incredibly defensive when the contest admin rejected her for not looking buff at all.
I remember that, too. And to add extra flavor to that salt, back in 2013, the whole 'muscular yang' thing was absurd to watch in action. Before Sun showed up, people were delighted that Yang was super feminine and girly girl pretty while also being strong and brutal in a fight. Then Sun with his ever-defined abs showed up and entered restricted territory by flirting with Blake, and suddenly Yang was Actually So Muscular Tho with abs that would put his to shame because duh, look at the screen, can't you see them? So freakin' immature.
Of course, nowadays, stuff like this is primarily to push RWBY as more subversive and socially progressive than it actually is. No, RWBY fans, alas, Yang has never been buff, and never will.
