Stepping in to offer my own thoughts, generally speaking one doesn't often *need* to offer context for the use of a guest character. They don't even necessarily need to be related to the subject matter at all; they just need to be engaging (in whatever way you find interesting or just amusing) and be able to offer some insights and comments to the matter at hand.
